I made apple pie!

For years now I have wanted to learn how to make my mother in law Sharon's famous holiday apple pie. This apple pie graces the table every year in the Rask household for whoever is lucky enough to spend the holidays with her! I have had it on many holiday occasions and for about the last 2-3 years I have wanted to learn the "family secret pie recipe." We never seem to have enough time when she is here visiting though. This last visit she stayed for three whole weeks! Granted I was gone to Colorado for one week, but you would still think that 2 weeks would be enough time to pull it together and learn to make a pie. Last time she came we bought the apples, but that was as far as we got. So this time I was determined, and it was still only 2 days from when she had to go home. We snuck it in on a Sunday night after the kids went to bed. Of course she helped me along the whole time but it did turn out delicious! I just have to mention this mostly because I am not domestic AT ALL! I'd never even made a pie with a frozen crust let alone made one from scratch! So yeah for me! Now the real test will come when I see if I can duplicate it later on my own!
