Discovery Place

Yesterday was another rainy day! And although we need the moisture and I am grateful for it, it does limit outdoor activity options!

So we decided to head to downtown Charlotte to Discovery Place, the Children's Museum.

There was 2 floors worth of stuff to keep the boys occupied. From the animal exhibit to Imax theatre it was a great afternoon.

The boys built with cool sticks, put sand into a machine that took several kids working in tandem to function, saw an animal exhibit, both taxidermied and live animals of all sorts, touched an iguana and a starfish, saw all sorts of fun circus facts (including what kind of animal has what kind of dung), all about levers and even dinosaurs!

We also went and saw a 45 minute production about the Colorado river and the danger of losing this great water resource on the Imax. Even Aricin was enthralled by Imax. Rafters and kayakers on the Colorado rapids was inspiring to see. Seeing Lake Powell made me miss Utah.
You could even see the huge film and the staff working to change over the movie before we headed into the theatre.

So many fun things! It was a very fun rainy afternoon.

Below, Aricin and Niels experimenting with Levers

The boys in front of this HUGE Brown bear! It was over 8 ft tall! I would NOT want to run into a live one of those!
And more pics in the slideshow above!

Fun! I love Childrens Museums :) We have a great one in Denver. The girls love the area where you can pretend to go grocery shopping. Funny how things that becomes chores later in life are a lot of fun when you are a kid :)
