SLC Trip

Monday was our departure date for our long awaited trip to Utah. It was a very long day because Niels left on a business trip to Seattle which we had to drop him off in Charlotte (about 1/2 hr away) at 5:30am. So we woke the boys and dropped dad off. Then it was back to the apartment to finish packing for the trip. The day went by so quick getting ready it was soon time to leave at 3:10pm for a 6:25pm departure for the first leg of our flight into Dallas. It was COLD (by NC standards). Why would I leave so early? Well, it started with the drive to the airport, followed by having to wait in line at the curbside valet so I could get close enough to check the bags while the kids sat in the car. After we did that we went and found parking, followed by a shuttle trip back to the terminal to go through a somewhat long security line. By the time we got to our gate it was already 5pm! So we went and had dinner, WOW $24 for 2 personal pizzas, a couple of yogurts, and some water. Our flight left on time and we arrived in Dallas at which point the boys were hungry again (even after I gave them snacks I packed on the plane) So we did 1 large fry and a small Mcflurry from the Golden Arches in the Dallas airport, Christian's favorite place to eat. We were lucky in the flight change we were in the same terminal although they did change our gate at the last minute! By the time we took off from Dallas it was 10:40 our time, and Aricin didn't even make it through take off. Christian didn't make it to cruising altitude. So we all slept the second portion of the flight. We arrived in SLC 11:40pm SLC time so 1:40am for us! Kris and Cy met us at the airport, and then they gave Christian the option of going to Grandma's (I had told him he'd have to wait until the next morning), so off we went to be greeted at my mom's with everyone wide awake! Ahhh, it is so good to be home. Utah will always be home to me I think, even though I've been gone almost 3 years now.
We got back to Kris's at 1 something, went to bed and Aricin was of course up by 7! He is truly the energizer bunny! Tuesday was great, lots of fun. We stayed at Grandma's together, I met with Tys (my brother), then I took the boys out to Kris's work and we got a great behind the scenes tour of the vet clinic. Then we headed out to see some friends that we missed last year when we were here. The boys had a great time playing with their friends Kenadee and Alex, and it was good for me to catch up with Cassie and Bryce.
Today Christian still stayed with Grandma, and Aricin and I hung out with Kris at the barn. She took us for a ride and we had a great time. Then Aricin got to play with the mini horse, named Mini, and he fell in love with her! I have a cute video to post of that but I will have to wait until I get back. It has been a busy but fun trip already!

Hey Cindy,

I'll get one up. I've got plenty of pics since her shower was yesterday.
